Class Announcements Middle School MeetingThere will be a middle school meeting at Beville M.S. for rising 6th grade students in the Special Ed. Program in the month of June. The date has not yet been announced. Once we receive the date and time we will send home a letter with the students. Thank you.
Weekend HomeworkMy students will be reviewing Math, Reading, and Grammar skills by completing short homework sheets this weekend and next weekend. This will help prepare the students for the upcoming SOL Tests. Please check the homework for accuracy. Thank you! SOL TestsWe are now preparing our students for the Reading and Math SOL Tests in May. Please encourage your child to do their very best! Here is a helpful website for all grade levels participating in the SOL Testing is www.solpass.org. If you have any questions please feel free to call or e-mail me. Thank you!
HomeworkThank you for your assistance with homework assignments. Most of our students have been consistent with turning in homework assignments every day. If the homework is too difficult, please write a note in the agenda to let me know. Our goal is for the homework to be a review and to not be frustrating. Thank you for your support!!
ReadingContinue to check the reading comprehension sheet each night for accuracy. In addition to the reading sheet, each student should read for at least 20 minutes each night.This will increase reading fluency, reading comprehension, and enjoyment for reading. Thank you for your support!
AgendaPlease check your child's agenda every night for homework assignments. After completion of the homework, please initial the agenda. Thank you!
Multiplication FactsPlease review daily the multiplication facts with your child. It is extremely important to review and memorize the facts. This will assist them with learning important math concepts, such as division and fractions. A helpful tool to use are flash cards and math games. We will continue to review the muliplication facts in class thoughout the year. Thank you for your continued support!
Parental SupportPlease have your child read every night and have a discussion about the story. Reading each night will increase reading fluency and comprehension skills. We have plenty of books in the classroom that can be taken home for at home reading. Please check and initial your child's agenda each day for homework assignments. Friday Folders go home every Friday with graded classwork and tests from the week. Please review the assignments in the folder and return back to school signed on Monday.
